About Me

Engineering leader with 9+ years building and scaling products. I've managed teams of up to 7 engineers at Spring Health and Freshly, taking a new EHR system from zero to ~40,000 providers in six weeks. At Triangle Services, I built a multi-airport operations and invoicing platform from scratch, and I still own it end to end.

I started as a frontend developer at the New York Times and have grown into a leader who still writes code. I care about developer experience, clean systems, and teams that hold each other accountable.

Outside of work: I played college hockey at Indiana University, and these days you'll find me on the tennis court — currently a 6.5 UTR and always working to push it higher. My dog also has more Instagram followers than me.

Experience

May 2024 – Present

Technical Program Manager (Engineering Lead)

Triangle Services
  • Built the GMR platform from scratch (Rails, React Native), now running at 5 airports, tracking ~10,000 flight legs a year and invoicing ~$14–16M in annual revenue
  • Replaced weeks of manual, paper-based billing with automated invoicing on each customer's cadence
  • Own it end to end (requirements, architecture, delivery, support), lead 1 engineer, and drive adoption across 50–60 users
  • Integrated flight data, payroll and accounting systems, giving leadership real-time visibility into services performed
Aug 2022 – Feb 2024

Engineering Manager

Spring Health
  • Launched a HIPAA-compliant EHR from zero to ~40,000 licensed providers in a 6-week phased rollout, on time
  • Shipped provider scheduling, including a live-availability API that let patients find and book providers
  • Managed and coached 7 engineers: hired 2, promoted 1
  • Moved the team from Kanban to Scrum: sprint completion went from ~60% to ~80%, cycle time from 10 to 7 days, and missed deadlines were halved
Apr 2019 – Aug 2022

Engineering Manager / Lead SWE / Full Stack Engineer

Freshly
  • Grew from full stack engineer to engineering manager of 6 engineers
  • Eliminated N+1 queries and added caching across the Rails monolith, cutting funnel page load by ~2 seconds
  • Set code review standards and created the Freshly Wiki for engineering docs and onboarding
Jul 2017 – Jan 2019

Frontend Developer

The New York Times
  • Built front-end variants for A/B experiments on nytimes.com
  • Built internal React tools that replaced manual steps in editorial and operational workflows
Sep 2015 – May 2017

Front End Engineer & Teaching Assistant

General Assembly
  • Engineered internal email-building tools, reducing build times by 2+ hours
  • Served as Teaching Assistant for the Web Development Immersive — a 12-week intensive full-stack bootcamp
